William Zellner was most recently professor emeritus of sociology at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. He attended Lafayette College, Missouri Valley College, Moravian College, and Millikin University, earning his B.A. and M.A. at Western Illinois University. His doctoral work was completed at South Dakota State University. Zellner is author of numerous articles, essays, and books, including Countercultures: A Sociological Analysis, published by St. Martin's Press. He is past president of the Oklahoma Sociological Association, and three times past president of the Association of Scientific Study of Religion, Southwest. He has also served as chairman of an award-winning nine-county community action agency. He has recently been designated as a resource person for the United States Information Agency to foreign journalists interested in American religious sects and cults.
