Fallen Timbers Battlefield
This significant battle between the forces of Gen. Anthony Wayne's
Legion of the United States and a confederation of Native American tribes
led to the opening of the Northwest Territory to white settlement and the
closing of those lands to the Indians. This archaeological project is an
attempt to accurately locate the field of battle and to more fully understand
the movements of the combatants on August 20, 1794.
