For more information about our licensing plan, of special interest to Web author/publishers, see the URL http://www.voyagerco.com/cdlink/about/license.html For the latest version of these release notes, see http://www.voyagerco.com/cdlink/getstarted/macrelease.html FAIR WARNING: This is beta software, meaning that it has not yet been tested rigorously and may still contain some bugs. While developmental and early "real world" testing has shown no alarming behavior, we offer it without warranty of any kind. Use it at your own risk. If you discover bugs yourself, please fill out the feedback form at http://www.voyagerco.com/cdlink/about/feedback.html or send email to cdlink@voyagerco.com describing the problem and your system, with "Mac Bug" in the header. *********************************************************************** Installing Voyager CDLink Read the release notes (found at http://www.voyagerco.com/cdlink/getstarted/macrelease.html) for any special instructions or updates. Add support for CDLink's new MIME type to your browser as follows: 1. Open your browser's Helper Application configuration dialog. In Netscape Navigator, this is found under the "Options" menu in the "Preferences" item. 2. Add a new MIME type of type application, subtype x-cdlink, extension vcd 3. Set the helper application for this new MIME type to CDLink Kernel (not Voyager CDLink!) 4. Tell your browser to launch CDLink Kernel when files of this MIME type are received. 5. Close the dialog, saving your changes. *********************************************************************** Voyager CDLink 1.0b1 (Macintosh) Requirements CDLink 1.0b1 requires Mac OS 7.5 or later. Subsequent releases will run under 7.0.1 or later. CDLink requires 350K of free RAM. 150K is for Voyager CDLink, 200K is for CDLink Kernel. *********************************************************************** Voyager CDLink 1.0b1 (Macintosh) Notes Voyager CDLink for the Macintosh is made up of two applications. The CDLink Kernel is a background-only application which receives .vcd files from your web browser and executes them. Voyager CDLink is the user interface part of CDLink. It provides an About Box and lets you quit CDLink Kernel. Currently, CDLink does not have a method for controlling the volume of your CD-ROM drive. We recommend that you set the volume of your drive before using CDLink, especially if you are using headphones. *********************************************************************** Voyager CDLink 1.0b1 (Macintosh) Known Bugs CDLink 1.0b1 requires Mac OS 7.5 or later. If you try and open CDLink on any version of Mac OS prior to 7.5, CDLink may fail to work properly or crash. The 'Open' menu item in the 'File' menu lets you select any file, but does nothing after you click the 'Open' button. Dragging and dropping a non-CDLink text file onto the CDLink Kernel application can cause CDLink Kernel to crash.
