Anger

The characteristic facial movements associated with anger are:

1. The brows are lowered and drawn together so that vertical wrinkles appear between the brows.

2. Both eyelids are tense, producing a hard stare.

3. The lips are either pressed firmly together or are opened in a tense, square shape (as if shouting).

Because so many facial expressions contain the characteristic facial movements of anger in one of these three locations, the anger signs must be present in all three locations in order to distinguish anger from other emotions.
