EEG tracings
The electrical signal from each electrode, after processing and amplification, drives a pen that traces a path on a continously moving roll of paper. The paper, which moves at a constant speed, has evenly spaced markings so that the activity recorded on the tracing can be matched to other observations of the sleeping person's behavior.
